Hypnotherapy or Hypnosis is a type of psychotherapy. Hypnosis is a state of focused relaxation. Hypnosis is a mental state, similar to mediation. During hypnosis elevated theta-wave activity is observed in EEGs.
The aim of hypnotherapy is to help individuals relax and become more accepting of the suggestions that are being presented to them.
