Hi, I am Akash Jain Founder of psyclarity. Since my early education, mental health has fascinated me. Given an opportunity, I chose to specialise in psychology.
Upon my return to India sadly, things have not had improved much. Today, it is estimated that there are only 4000 Mental Health professionals and an additional 3000 social workers approximately in the whole country. With Psyclarity, it is my mission to contribute towards mental health by providing the best possible and world-leading Mental Health Services.

What is Mental Health? I hear you ask...

Mental health includes our emotional, psychological and social well-being. Mental health is a crucial part of our lives and one of the pillars of our health. Yet, we are never taught how to care for or maintain it. If we are injured, we tend to the wounds and if needed, get stitches or appropriate care. Yet, ignore when we are not so well mentally.
Ultimately mental health determines our mental statuses, alertness, cognitive functions such as thinking and memory, and decision making and much more. Therefore it is essential to care for our mental health.
Mental health also includes our abilities to cope with the stresses of daily life and our resilience.


Mental Disorders and Illnesses.

Mental health is more of a spectrum ranging from mentally ill to functional. And not as simple as mentally ill or not.
There are many mental health disorders such as depression, social anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, to name a few. However, in most cases, provided proper care and sufficient support most individuals make a significant to full recovery and return to living fulfilled productive and satisfying lives.

What is Therapy?

A therapy session is said to be in progress when you approach a qualified and trained professional intending to resolve problematic behaviours, beliefs, relationships, feelings and somatic responses.

To begin a therapy session is an active step that you take towards a healthier and more satisfying life. Regardless, the challenges that you may have in your life. With therapy, it is possible to change self-sabotage, unwanted habits resolve deep-rooted issues and more.

This one I get asked a lot. I can always speak to my mum, siblings, friends... you get the idea. However, there are at many times, things that you may not be comfortable sharing with your immediate circle always.
